Differences Found in Pop Warner Football
Every Kid Plays
Teams are comprised of players of all skill levels. Every child will play during the game. We do not allow coaches to "stack" any teams. We want our children to learn to love the game and have the opportunity to grow.
Divisions
CORE age divisions for the 2025 season: 7U, 9U, 11U, 12U, 13U! But that's not all – we’re adding a 10U division to the mix for all the associations that fill their core teams first. Leagues can place players based on age and weight, or age only.
No Personal Statistics
Pop Warner only recognizes the athletic accomplishments of the team, not the individual. We don't track personal tallies of touchdowns or yards rushing per game. We don't count sacks or blocked kicks. We applaud the athletic efforts of the team to reinforce the importance of teamwork.
Safety First
Pop Warner has reduced contact to 25% of practice time, eliminated kickoffs for our youngest divisions and require that any player who suffers a suspected head injury to receive medical clearance from a concussion specialist before returning to play.
Why Our Coaches are Different
Coaches
All coaches are required to pass a National background check. In addition, coaches are required to participate in various hands on trainings to make sure they are providing the best experience for your children. All football coaches are required to have a USA Football certification and be CPR certified.
